People from all communities and religions in Sikkim came together under the banner of the Sarva Dharma Evam Sarva Jaatiya Sabha to express their full support for the Indian Armed Forces and the recent national operation against terrorism—Operation Sindoor. A resolution was passed during the gathering held on May 10, 2025 declaring complete solidarity with the soldiers and the government of India.
The meeting brought together leaders and representatives from various walks of life. The Governor of Sikkim, Om Prakash Mathur and Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang were among the key figures who endorsed the resolution. The resolution clearly stated that the people of Sikkim stand united behind the soldiers and firmly support all actions taken against terrorism, terrorist camps, and those who sponsor such activities.
In a message that was both powerful and clear, the people condemned the mindset that encourages hatred, violence, and the killing of innocent people. The resolution rejected such ideologies and expressed deep concern over any attempts to divide people or cause harm through acts of terror.
The resolution said that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's guidance, India’s defence system has become stronger and more capable of protecting its people. The participants of the Sabha said they believe the Prime Minister is leading the country with vision and courage, and they offered him their full support.
The statement further added that defending the country and protecting innocent citizens is not just the duty of the government or the armed forces, but also the responsibility of every Indian. The resolution reminded everyone that unity and patriotism are the biggest strengths of a nation, especially in times of challenge.
Minister Arun Kumar Upreti, along with leaders like Sonam Lama and other community members also signed the resolution and stood firmly in agreement.
