In light of the worsening road conditions, authorities have announced a possible evacuation operation for tourists stranded in the region. This move comes as a precaution, should the main roads remain blocked or inaccessible tomorrow.
According to the District Collector of North, if the situation persists, the evacuation will be conducted via the Toong Naga Road through Rel Khola Foot Bridge. This route will serve as an alternate path to ensure the safe movement of stranded tourists.
All those involved in the tourism sector including tour operators, tourist taxi services, and hotel owners have been instructed to be ready for this operation. They must arrange transport vehicles in advance, starting from the transshipment area at Naga, to ferry tourists safely to Gangtok.
