Sikkim Police issues traffic advisory for Rholu Diwas 2024
Movement of heavy vehicles will be prohibited along the "Melli-Kitam-Jorethang" road stretch throughout the day.

In preparation for the celebration of "Rholu Diwas 2024" at Rholu, Melli, in Namchi District on December 21, the Namchi District Police has released a comprehensive traffic advisory to ensure smooth vehicular movement and public safety.
Key points of the advisory include:
Heavy Vehicle Restrictions: Movement of heavy vehicles will be prohibited along the "Melli-Kitam-Jorethang" road stretch throughout the day.
One-Way Traffic: Traffic flow from Jorethang to Kitam Fhatak will be one-way, and vehicles will not be allowed to travel in the reverse direction.
Parking Restrictions: Parking within a 500-meter radius of the venue will not be permitted.
Alternative Routes: Travelers heading to the western or eastern parts of Sikkim are advised to take the "Singtam-Temi/Rabongla-Namchi/Sikkip" route to avoid the Melli-Jorethang stretch.
Driver Identification: Vehicles arriving at the venue must display the driver's mobile number prominently.
The advisory will remain in effect from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM on December 21, 2024. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Karma Gyamtso Bhutia, SPS, has requested public cooperation to ensure the success of the event and minimize inconvenience.
