Sikkim Olympic Association elects new executive body for 2025-2029

The election results mark the beginning of a new term for the SOA leadership, which will oversee the development and promotion of sports in Sikkim over the next four years.

The Sikkim Olympic Association (SOA) held its Executive Body elections on March 16, 2025, at the Conference Hall of Hotel Sikkim Retreat, Gangtok. The election process was conducted as per the SOA Constitution, with observers from the Indian Olympic Association and the Sikkim Sports & Youth Affairs Department ensuring transparency.

The election was overseen by Shri Lakhya Konwar, Secretary General of the Assam Olympic Association, representing the Indian Olympic Association, and Shri Nabin Lama, Deputy Director, Sports & Youth Affairs Department, Government of Sikkim.

Following the election, the Returning Officer officially declared the newly elected executive members, all of whom were elected unopposed for the term 2025-2029:

President: Kuber Bhandari

- Vice Presidents: Chewang Zangpo Bhutia, Tashi Ongdup Lepcha

- General Secretary: Jas Lal Pradhan

- Joint Secretaries: Bhim Bdr Subba, Mahindra Dhakal

- Treasurer: Sangay Palzang Bhutia

- Executive Members: Phuntshok Chopel Bhutia, Bijoy Gurung, Arun Kumar Gurung, Suman Tamang
