Sikkim: Nosang Limboo represents Sikkim at Arunachal Pradesh’s Eaglenest Bird Festival

The Eaglenest Bird Festival, which began on January 18, 2025, was inaugurated by Shri. Wangki Lowang, the Hon'ble Forest Minister of Arunachal Pradesh.

Nosang Limboo, the State Level Convenor of the SKM Students Wing, participated in the 4th edition of the Eaglenest Bird Festival held in Arunachal Pradesh. During the festival, Limboo presented Sikkim’s State Butterfly Pin Badge to Arunachal Pradesh Forest Minister, Shri. Wangki Lowang, as a gesture of goodwill and cultural exchange.

The Eaglenest Bird Festival, which began on January 18, 2025, was inaugurated by Shri. Wangki Lowang, the Hon'ble Forest Minister of Arunachal Pradesh. The opening ceremony was attended by a distinguished group of officials, including Tseten Chombay, MLA of Kalaktang, Tenzin Nyima Glow, MLA of Trizinobura, Arunachal Pradesh Forest Department CF Dr. AT Damodar, and other notable figures such as former Minister of Rural Development D.K. Thongdok. The event also saw the participation of students from various colleges, naturalists, and local residents.

Invited as a resource person, Nosang Limboo highlighted the significant environmental initiatives of Sikkim’s Chief Minister, Prem Singh Tamang, including the ‘Mero Rukh Mero Santati,’ ‘Mero Bato Mero Rukh,’ and ‘Sikkim Pariyavaran Parva’ campaigns. He also shared insights into the state's efforts in butterfly study and promotion, notably the historic declaration of Sikkim’s State Butterfly in 2022, under the encouragement of the Chief Minister.
