A delegation from NITI Aayog and the Ministry of Women and Child Development (WCDD), Government of India, concluded a successful three-day visit to the Anganwadi Centers (AWCs) in Soreng District, Sikkim. The visit, which took place from February 16th to 18th, focused on assessing the functioning of AWCs in Mendogoan, Upper Kamling, and Upper Khanisherbong.

The team inspected homes of beneficiaries from different age groups, including infants (0-6 months), toddlers (6 months to 3 years), and children (3 to 6 years). Special attention was given to pregnant and lactating mothers, as well as those benefiting from the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY).

In addition to the on-ground inspections, the delegation held detailed discussions with Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) Mrs. Gauri Tamang. Key topics covered during the meeting included nutrition, supply chains, infrastructure, and various government missions such as Mission Vatsalya, Mission Sakcham, Mission Poshan 2.0, and Mission Shakti.
