Sikkim: Namsoong Festival inaugurated with vibrant celebrations in Dzongu constituency

The much-awaited Namsoong Festival was inaugurated with great fervor at Pasingthang under the Dzongu Constituency in North Sikkim. The grand opening was attended by Hon'ble Minister Shri Nar Bahadur Dahal, who graced the event as the Chief Guest, accompanied by his spouse Mrs. Sabina Rai. The celebration was further elevated by the presence of Hon'ble Area MLA and Minister Shri Pintso Namgyal Lepcha, who joined in to honor the festival's significance.
The festival, a celebration of Lepcha culture and traditions, saw vibrant cultural performances that included traditional Lepcha songs and dances, offering attendees a deep insight into the region’s rich heritage. Local cuisines, representing the unique flavors of Sikkim, were also on display, adding to the festive spirit. Exciting activities like a tug-of-war competition and an archery tournament brought energy and fun to the occasion.
One of the highlights of the event was the exhibition of indigenous crafts, where local artisans showcased their intricate work, celebrating the artistic traditions of the Lepcha community.
