Sikkim MP Indra Hang Subba urges NHIDCL to prioritize NH10 maintenance

Lok Sabha MP Indra Hang Subba met with NHIDCL Executive Director Riten Kumar Singh in Delhi today to discuss the urgent need for proper maintenance of National Highway 10 (NH10), which connects Sevoke in West Bengal to Rangpo in Sikkim.

With the monsoon season approaching, MP Subba highlighted the critical importance of keeping the highway in good condition to ensure smooth connectivity for the people of Sikkim. He emphasized that now that NHIDCL has taken charge of NH10’s maintenance, the public has high expectations from the agency.

During the meeting, he also proposed exploring an alternative highway along the other side of the Teesta Valley, which could serve as a long-term solution to connectivity challenges.

Earlier in the day, MP Subba also met with Aditya Prakash, Chief Engineer at the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), where he discussed in detail the maintenance and upkeep of NH10.
