MLA of 21-Gnathang Machong Constituency and Advisor to the Women, Child, Senior Citizen, and Disabilities Welfare Department, Pamin Lepcha, along with MLA of Kabi Lungchok, Thenlay Tshering Bhutia attended an exhibition match at Karthok, Pakyong. The event was a part of the ongoing preparations for the 23rd Chief Minister Gold Cup Traditional Archery Tournament.
During their visit, the dignitaries took the opportunity to review the progress of the District-Level Archery Academy’s construction. They also assessed the logistical aspects of the upcoming tournament, ensuring that the venue setup, seating arrangements, sanitation facilities, and electricity infrastructure were all in place to guarantee a smooth experience for both participants and spectators.
The exhibition match showcased the talent of skilled compound archers from across the state, offering a glimpse into the high level of competition expected at the Chief Minister Gold Cup. A pilot testing of the venue was also conducted, where equipment performance and overall event setup were evaluated. The feedback gathered from participants during the testing phase will be used to enhance the venue for future events.
Representatives from the Pakyong District Archery Association took the opportunity to highlight their dual mission of promoting modern archery while also preserving the traditional aspects of the sport.
