MLA of Zoom-Salghari constituency and Advisor Madan Cintury officially flagged off a vibrant bike rally today as part of the promotional campaign for the upcoming Maghey Sankranti Mela 2025. The rally aims to celebrate Sikkim’s rich cultural heritage while positioning the mela as a premier cultural event in the region.
With the dual purpose of emphasizing the historical significance of the mela and promoting communal harmony, the rally witnessed the enthusiastic participation of around 65 bikers from Sikkim and neighboring states. The rally, which began in Jorethang, traversed through culturally and historically significant locations, including Darjeeling, Kalimpong, and Melli, before returning to its starting point.
