Allegations of fund misuse have surfaced in the Loby Tourism Development Cooperative Society, prompting immediate action and an investigation under the directive of Area MLA/Advisor Thenlay Tshering Bhutia.

A meeting convened at Loby Bakcha brought together officials from the Cooperative Society, including the Joint Registrar Cooperative, Deputy Registrar Cooperative, Mangan District, the Panchayat President, the Ward Panchayat, and local residents. The agenda focused on addressing the alleged financial irregularities within the society.

During the meeting, it was disclosed that ₹2,90,000 had been allocated by the department to the society for developmental purposes. However, a significant portion—₹2,50,000—was reportedly spent by the current President without prior consultation with the executive body or the concerned Ward Panchayat. These allegations have raised concerns about transparency and accountability in the society's financial management.

In response, Bhutia directed the concerned authorities to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter and submit a report within a week. He emphasized the need for clarity on the utilization of the funds and stressed that further action would be based on the findings of the inquiry.
