Sikkim: Minister Sonam Lama attends annual Dubchen at Rhenock Aritar Goan

Minister Ven. Sonam Lama attended the annual Dubchen ceremony at Rhenock Aritar Goan, offering prayers for the well-being of the community and beyond. The event, a significant spiritual occasion, was also attended by Sonam Topgay Tashi, Additional Secretary of the Ecclesiastical Department, along with other officials.

During the ceremony, attendees witnessed the sacred Dubchen Cham, a traditional dance performance centered around Gurdra as the mandala kilkhor. This symbolic representation holds great religious importance and is deeply revered in the local community.

Addressing the gathering, Minister Lama announced government support for the construction of a new monastic kitchen, emphasizing the state’s dedication to preserving and supporting Sikkim’s religious and cultural heritage. He highlighted the role of monasteries as pillars of spiritual guidance and cultural preservation in the state.
