Sikkim: Man brutally beaten; another injured in domestic altercation
Police have filed FIR No. 01/2025 under sections 117(2) and 3(5) of the BNSS Act, 2023, and efforts are underway to identify the attackers.

Pakyong Police registered two assault cases on January 1, 2025. In the first case, Saurav Sharma, a 31-year-old resident of Namli, was attacked by unidentified assailants near Khongsee Andheri Dovan. The victim, who was walking home late at night, sustained severe injuries and is currently receiving treatment in the ICU at STNM Hospital. Police have filed FIR No. 01/2025 under sections 117(2) and 3(5) of the BNSS Act, 2023, and efforts are underway to identify the attackers.
In the second case, a domestic dispute turned violent in Upper Bering. Binod Rai, 50, was assaulted by Sancha Man Subba on December 31, 2024.
The incident, involving fists and blows, left Rai hospitalized with injuries. Pakyong Police registered the case under FIR No. 02/2025, U/S 117(2) of the BNSS Act, 2023. Investigations are ongoing.
