Sikkim: Inter-State Youth Exchange Programme 2024-25 concludes in Gangtok

The Inter-State Youth Exchange Programme 2024-25, organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra Gangtok (My Bharat) under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, successfully concluded today at Sky MG Mark in Gangtok.

The event, which ran from February 14 to 18, brought together 27 youth participants from Tripura who joined local youth from Sikkim. The programme showcased a vibrant exchange of cultural dances, songs, and traditional performances. The diversity on display reflected the rich cultural heritage of the northeastern states and promoted mutual understanding and friendship among the participants.

Tenzing Dorjee Bhutia, Chairman of the Sikkim State Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation Ltd. (SIMFED), attended the programme as the Chief Guest. In his address, Bhutia praised the initiative, emphasizing its role in fostering unity across different communities. “Such programmes play a vital role in promoting national integration and strengthening the bonds among the youth of different states,” he said.

Sri Bimal Gurung, DSP Gangtok, also attended the closing ceremony. He commended the youth for their enthusiasm and participation, highlighting the importance of cultural exchanges in nurturing leadership and building a more inclusive society.

The Inter-State Youth Exchange Programme served as a platform for youth empowerment, leaving a lasting impact on all participants. Many expressed gratitude for the opportunity to connect with peers and learn about each other’s cultural heritage.
