An injured puppy has been rescued near the Bengal side of Rangpo after a viral video on social media raised concerns about possible animal cruelty. The rescue effort was carried out following intervention by local animal activists and concerned citizens.

A woman, reportedly associated with an animal welfare NGO came across the video on Facebook and suspected that the location was near Rangpo. She immediately alerted the authorities and urged action to save the distressed puppy.

According to her statement, she initially approached a police station to seek help, but was allegedly told that there were no witnesses and was discouraged from further inquiry. Determined to save the puppy, she and her team searched through multiple shops and local areas, speaking to people in hopes of finding any leads.

After relentless efforts, the puppy was finally found and rescued near the Bengal side of Rangpo.

Local animal activists have called for greater awareness and stronger measures to prevent such cases. "Animals deserve our protection. We must act swiftly in cases of cruelty and ensure their safety," the woman said.

The rescued puppy is now receiving medical care and will soon be placed in a safe and caring environment.
