Sikkim Idol Season 2 begins with Gala Round in Gangtok

After the huge success of its first season, the much-loved singing reality show Sikkim Idol returned with its second edition on Monday. The show, presented by Hamro Varta Television, kicked off its Gala Round at SC Bhawan, Development Area, Gangtok in a grand opening ceremony attended by several dignitaries and a large audience.
The event was graced by Smt. Krishna Kumari Rai, spouse of the Hon’ble Chief Minister, who attended as the Chief Guest. In her address, she congratulated the organisers for creating a platform that showcases the hidden talent of Sikkim’s youth and helps them move closer to their musical dreams. She said that such platforms are not only entertainment shows but also contribute to cultural promotion and inspire the younger generation.

Among the dignitaries present were Deputy Mayor of GMC, Smt. Tshering Palden Bhutia, Smt. Bina Rai, Advisor, Food & Civil Supplies Department, Upadhyaksha of Pakyong District, Upadhyaksha of Gangtok District, Political Secretary to the Chief Minister (Press & Publicity), Press Secretary to the Chief Minister, as well as several Chairpersons and OSDs. Their presence added further significance to the opening ceremony.
