District Collector of Gyalshing, Tenzing D Denzongpa, visited Government Secondary School Labdang at Kongri Labdang Gram Panchayat Unit (GPU) to assess the school’s infrastructure and promote quality education in remote areas. Accompanied by Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Yuksom, Chandan Singh Subba, and other officials, the visit marked part of an ongoing outreach effort across the district.

Denzongpa inspected classrooms, observed lessons, and interacted with students. He noted the need for urgent repairs and addressed electricity shortages, personally contributing ₹10,000 for immediate restoration. He also assured the school authorities of long-term infrastructure solutions.

Recalling his time as a teacher, Denzongpa emphasized the vital role educators play in shaping young minds, encouraging the staff to upgrade their skills for better student development.

Later, the DC distributed compensation cheques to 87 families affected by the SPWD road construction from Labdang to Rellichu. He also reviewed progress on the Labdang Eco Society, a sustainable rural development initiative envisioned by Chief Minister P.S. Tamang.
