Sixty students and teachers from Government Senior Secondary School (GSSS) Lingdok embarked on a transformative Nature Camp at Fambonglho Wildlife Sanctuary, organized under the Environment Education Programme (EEP) of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC), Government of India.

The camp, curated by the Forest and Environment Department, offered a day packed with educational activities such as birdwatching, nature hikes, and hands-on exploration of local flora and fauna. These activities helped students develop a deeper understanding of biodiversity and conservation.

Distinguished guests Neety Verma and Sanjeet Kumar, Consultants from MoEF&CC’s EE Division, along with representatives from the ENVIS, Wildlife, and Research Cell of the Forest and Environment Department, shared their insights on environmental stewardship. Their presence enriched the students' learning experience, offering guidance on sustainability and conservation.

The highlight of the camp was a two-hour trek to Tinjurey, where students observed claw marks, pug marks, and water holes in the Himalayan Black Bear habitat. The trek also featured blooming rhododendrons and bird sightings, providing an immersive encounter with the natural world.
