Sikkim government presents Rs 16,196 crore budget for 2025-26

The Sikkim government, led by Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang, has tabled the Annual General Budget for the financial year 2025-26, with a total outlay of Rs 16,196 crore. The budget was presented in the Sikkim Legislative Assembly today, focusing on fiscal discipline, sustainable growth, and public welfare.
The budget documents include the Explanatory Memorandum, Annual Financial Statement, Estimates of Receipts, and Demands for Grants. The gross expenditure provision for the year stands at Rs 16,647 crore, with recoveries of Rs 451 crore, bringing the net outgo to Rs 16,196 crore.
Key allocations in the budget include:
Revenue Expenditure: Rs 11,028 crore
Capital Expenditure: Rs 5,168 crore
Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS): Rs 2,896 crore

The allocation under Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) will strengthen central funding for key projects, boosting infrastructure and public services.
