Sikkim government announces key appointments for state institutions

Biren Chandra Rai, a resident of Majhigaon, Jorethang, has been appointed as Advisor to the State Bank of Sikkim.

Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang extended congratulations to Biren Chandra Rai and Teny Doma Bhutia on their appointments to pivotal positions in the state.

Biren Chandra Rai, a resident of Majhigaon, Jorethang, has been appointed as Advisor to the State Bank of Sikkim. His appointment, notified by the Home Department (Notification No. 1/Home/2025), comes under the Sikkim State Public Services Act, 2006. The government has assured that Rai will receive perks and facilities as per the provisions of Notification No. 56/Home/2024, issued earlier on July 23, 2024.

Teny Doma Bhutia of Ravangla has been named Chairperson of the Sikkim State Commission for Women. Her appointment underscores the government’s commitment to promoting gender equity and empowering women in the state.

Chief Minister Tamang expressed his best wishes for both appointees and said, “Wishing both of you the very best in your future endeavours!”.
