In an age where political trust is rare and often short-lived, Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang has emerged as a leader who does not merely make promises but delivers results that transform lives. The overwhelming electoral support he received was not just a political victory, but a strong endorsement by a people who have seen tangible change under his leadership.
From the regularisation of government employees left in uncertainty for over three decades to granting free MBBS education—including tuition fees—his government has redefined public service. These are not symbolic gestures; they are life-changing steps for countless families who had long believed such dreams were beyond reach.
Under Golay’s tenure, major medical interventions such as cancer treatments, organ transplants, and other life-saving surgeries have been made free for those who need them the most. These initiatives have given hope and dignity to vulnerable families, ensuring that no Sikkimese dies due to lack of money or access to healthcare.
One of the most emotionally resonant victories under Golay’s administration has been the removal of the controversial "foreigner" tag on Sikkimese Nepali citizens—a longstanding issue that deeply impacted community identity. That tag, which once questioned the belongingness of many native Sikkimese, was struck down within 28 days of the CM's decisive intervention.
Despite these monumental achievements, opposition parties have remained largely silent—choosing not to acknowledge, let alone support, measures that directly uplift the people. Critics continue to rely on rhetoric while the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) government has been steadily rewriting the script of governance with a people-first approach.
Golay’s achievements span multiple sectors. His government introduced scholarships and full financial support for medical students, ensuring that education is not denied due to poverty. The long-standing issue of fair promotion and regularisation in government service has finally been addressed, restoring dignity to thousands of employees.
He has also been instrumental in bringing in key social welfare schemes like the AAMA Scheme, which offers financial support to non-working mothers, and regularising ASHA and Anganwadi workers who had long served without stable recognition or pay. The once-dreaded "Kirtay Parcha" culture has been dismantled, giving way to transparency and efficiency in administrative processes.
“Bharosa—trust—has been earned, not demanded,” a government official stated. “Every commitment made by the Hon’ble Chief Minister has been honoured with action.”
CM Golay's message has been clear: identity, dignity, and development are not mutually exclusive—they are the pillars of a progressive society. And with each fulfilled promise, his administration continues to prove that it is not slogans, but steadfast will and sincere leadership that truly transform lives.
