Sikkim: Gangtok's District Administrative Centre gets modernised with advanced systems

The District Administrative Centre (DAC) in Gangtok took a huge leap forward in modernisation with the inauguration of advanced administrative systems and revamped facilities. The event was graced by Burtuk MLA and Advisor to the Rural Development Department, Kala Rai, who inaugurated several key projects including a Renovated Single Window System and Beautification Projects within the DAC complex.

Rai was warmly welcomed by Tushar Nikhare, District Magistrate Gangtok along with other senior officials, including Tenzing Loden, Senior Superintendent of Police Gangtok; Sisum Wangchuk Bhutia, Additional District Magistrate Gangtok and Girdhari Lal Meena, SDM (HQ) Gangtok. The ceremony was also attended by Sonam Gyatso, District Planning Officer, Zilla Panchayat members and DAC staff.

A highlight of the event was the inauguration of the Token Management System, designed to streamline public service delivery by managing public work requests efficiently. During her interaction with window cell staff, Ms. Rai encouraged them to uphold high standards of dedication and service. The District Magistrate provided an overview of the system, underscoring its focus on user-centric design, operational transparency, and workflow optimisation.

Ms. Rai also toured the upgraded DAC complex, which now features historic photographs showcasing Sikkim’s rich legacy and its administrative evolution. As part of the modernisation efforts, she inaugurated new offices for the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) and the Assistant Collector in Gangtok.
