Sikkim: Gangtok Municipal Corporation to conduct physical verification of trade licence holders

The Gangtok Municipal Corporation (GMC) has announced that it will conduct a physical verification of shops and business establishments under its jurisdiction ahead of the renewal of trade licences for the financial year 2025-26. The inspection will begin on March 26, 2025, and aims to ensure that there are no cases of sub-letting of trade licences.

In a public notice issued by the Office of the Municipal Commissioner, all trade licence holders have been instructed to display their trade licences prominently at their place of business. Additionally, they must produce a fresh No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the house owner during the verification process.

Following the inspection, a verification slip will be issued to the trade licence holders, which must be uploaded at the time of renewal of the trade licence for the upcoming financial year.
