The Sikkim Forests & Environment Department has issued two directives emphasizing strict compliance with labour registration and cleanliness standards in government offices.

In a circular signed by Additional PCCF (HQ) P. Senthil Kumar, all labourers employed in Sikkim must possess a valid Labour Registration Card as per the Sikkim Labour (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 2022. Security assistants and help desk staff have been directed to verify and ensure visible display of these cards before allowing workers entry into office premises. Divisional Heads must also ensure that unregistered labourers are not permitted entry.

In a separate office order, strict cleanliness protocols have been mandated for all Forest Department offices. Responsibilities have been assigned to designated Safai Karmacharis for each block, with supervisors and monitoring officers appointed to ensure compliance. Cleaning schedules have been set for morning and afternoon shifts, with compulsory monthly cleanliness drives. Non-compliance will be dealt with under the Sikkim Government Service Rules, 1974, and Conduct Rules, 1981.
