Sikkim: Five missing children reunited with child shelter in Gangtok

The minors were safely brought back to the police station and medically examined at STNM Hospital, Sochakgang.

The Sadar Police successfully traced and reunited five missing children with a children’s shelter home in Gangtok on Thursday.

The children, aged between 13 and 17 years, had been reported missing under Sadar PS Case FIR No. 54/2025, registered on April 8 under Section 137(2) of the BNS, 2023. After a search operation, the police managed to locate:

1. Rohit Tamang (17)

2. Puran Das (13)

3. Poul Manger (14)

4. Navin Rana (14)

5. Manoj Manger (13)

The minors were safely brought back to the police station and medically examined at STNM Hospital, Sochakgang. After the formalities, they were handed over to Mr. Dorjee Lhendup Lepcha, House Father of Rainbow Children Home.

Officials said that the children will undergo counseling sessions under the supervision of the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) to ensure their well-being.

Police are also looking into the circumstances that led to their disappearance.
