Sikkim: District Level Disposal Committee destroys seized drugs in Gyalshing
These items had been confirmed as related to six SADA/NDPS cases, already disposed of in the District and Session Court, with the appeal period having expired.

In accordance with the direction of Superintendent of Police, Tshering Sherpa, SPS, and under the compliance of Notification No. 17/Home/2023 dated 13.04.2023, the District Level Disposal Committee successfully carried out the destruction and disposal of seized contraband substances on February 18, 2025, at the District Hospital Gyalshing.
The disposal process, led by Shri Tshering Sherpa, SPS, Superintendent of Police, Gyalshing District, was conducted in the presence of key officials and independent witnesses. Notable attendees included Shri Pulkit Balhara, IAS, SDM (HQ), Shri Kessang D. Bhutia, SPS, SDPO/Gyalshing, and Shri Lakpa Sangay Sherpa, Drug Inspector, District Hospital Gyalshing.
The seized contraband involved in various cases across Gyalshing District included:
144 capsules of Proxyvon Spas Capsules
16 capsules of Winspasmo Forte Capsules
395 loose Spm Prx Wockhardt Capsules
227 loose Windlas Winspasmo Capsules
02 grams of Marijuana
11.85 grams of Brown Sugar
3 bottles of Cough Syrup
These items had been confirmed as related to six SADA/NDPS cases, already disposed of in the District and Session Court, with the appeal period having expired. The seized drugs were reviewed and approved for destruction with the prior permission of the Ld. Chief Judicial Magistrate Court at Gyalshing.
