Sikkim: DGP Robin Hibu visits Medhavi Skills University, inspires students

Robin Hibu, IPS, Special Commissioner of Delhi Police, visited Medhavi Skills University (MSU) for an interactive session, inspiring students to pursue careers driven by excellence and public service.

During his visit, Hibu explored MSU’s state-of-the-art skill development facilities, focusing on industry-integrated higher education. He was warmly welcomed by MSU’s Co-Founder and Pro-Chancellor, Shri Kuldip Sarma, along with faculty members. Discussions were held on collaborative skill development initiatives to expand career opportunities for students in the Northeast. MSU, in partnership with Helping Hands, also operates the Mahatma Gandhi Centre in Ziro, equipping youth in Arunachal Pradesh with industry-relevant skills.

The campus tour included visits to advanced laboratory buildings, specializing in emergency care, microbiology, clinical biochemistry, optometry, radiology, hematology, and physiotherapy. Shri Hibu also inspected academic spaces, digital learning facilities, student hostels, and ongoing infrastructure projects, gaining insight into MSU’s skill-integrated academic programs and industry-oriented training modules.

Interacting with students and faculty, Shri Hibu shared insights from his extensive law enforcement and social service experience. In his keynote address, he emphasized the importance of skill-based education in empowering India’s youth.

“It is heartening to witness Medhavi Skills University’s dedication to skill development and industry-academia collaboration. Institutions like MSU play a crucial role in shaping India’s future by equipping students with practical skills and knowledge,” Shri Hibu said.

MSU’s Pro-Chancellor, Shri Kuldip Sarma, highlighted the impact of such interactions, stating, “Robin Hibu’s visit inspires students to excel in skill-based learning. By honing their skills, they not only shape their future but also contribute to India’s progress.”
