Sikkim Design Week 2025 Mangan Chapter wraps up showcasing local talent and sustainable growth

The much-anticipated Sikkim Design Week 2025 Mangan chapter concluded today after two days of vibrant activities aimed at fostering creativity, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development deeply rooted in Sikkim’s cultural heritage.

Held from May 24 to 25 at Nagar Panchayat Bhavan, the event provided a dynamic platform for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), artisans, startups, and creative professionals to collaborate, exchange ideas, and highlight innovative approaches that promote sustainability while celebrating local traditions.

The inaugural day saw the opening of the Craft Bazar, which attracted visitors eager to explore handcrafted products and interact with the artisans behind them. The bazar served as a living exhibition of Sikkim’s rich artisan culture, blending traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design sensibilities.

On the closing day, the event was graced by several distinguished guests, including Pintso Namgyal Lepcha, Minister for the Department of Forest, Anant Jain, IAS and District Collector of Mangan, Kado Lepcha, Adhakshya of Mangan District, Sonam Kipa Bhutia, Upadhyaksha, and Rabzor Lachungpa, a noted social worker and entrepreneur. The presence of local leaders such as members of the Zilla Panchayat and Panchayat representatives underscored the community’s support for the initiative. Senior officials like Choden Gyatso, Director-cum-Additional Secretary of the Commerce & Industries Department, and Topden Zangpo, Joint Secretary of the same department, also attended, highlighting the government’s commitment to nurturing local industries.
