A District Implementation Committee (DIC) meeting on the PM Vishwakarma Scheme was chaired by District Collector (DC) Soreng, Mr. Dhiraj Subedi, at the District Administrative Centre (DAC) in Soreng on Sunday. The meeting focused on the scheme’s initial phase and strategies for effective implementation in the district.

The meeting was attended by ADC (Development) Mr. Gaayas Pega, SDM (HQ) Mr. Prem K. Subba, JD (DHH) Ms. Nirmala Chettri, General Manager (DIC) Ms. Anula Gurung, LDM (SBI) Mr. Anit Lamichaney, BDOs, SLPMU (PM Vishwakarma) representative Mr. Prem Kumar Chhetri, DFO (MSME) Mr. T-Gouminlal, and NSDC/MSDE representative Ms. Jharna Sharma, among others.

DC Subedi emphasized the district-wide data collection process, directing BDOs to reassess and refine the information for more precise implementation. He highlighted the importance of identifying relevant trades for the district to ensure the scheme benefits the maximum number of eligible artisans and workers.

A detailed presentation on the PM Vishwakarma Scheme was delivered by Mr. Prem Kumar Chhetri, who outlined key aspects such as eligibility criteria, categories, role of Common Service Centres (CSCs), registration process, required documentation, and post-registration training. He stressed the necessity of proper understanding and execution of the scheme at every level for maximum impact.

The meeting also provided a platform for fruitful discussions, with participants sharing suggestions and ideas to refine the scheme’s implementation. Officials agreed on a collaborative approach to ensure seamless execution and maximize benefits for skilled workers in Soreng district.
