Sikkim: Daramdin triumphs in Soreng Inter-Constituency Football Tournament preliminary round

The preliminary round of the Inter-Constituency Football Tournament (Men), organized by the Sports and Youth Affairs Department of Soreng District, concluded today at Jautar Stadium. The event, held as part of the Makar Sankranti 2025 celebrations, witnessed an electrifying final match between 06-Daramdin Constituency and 07-Soreng Chakung Constituency.

In a spirited contest, the 06-Daramdin team emerged victorious with a commanding 3-0 win, securing their spot in the second round of the tournament. The next stage will take place at the Football Stadium in Jorethang, starting January 9, 2025.

The final match was graced by the presence of CLC Presidents from both constituencies, along with officials and staff from the Sports and Youth Affairs Department of Soreng District. Medical personnel from the Health Department, officers from the Soreng Police Department, and enthusiastic local youth added to the vibrant atmosphere of the event.

Four constituencies participated in the preliminary round:

- 05 - Rinchenpong Constituency

- 06 - Daramdin Constituency

- 07 - Soreng Chakung Constituency

- 08 - Salghari Zoom Constituency

The tournament, which began on January 7, has been a celebration of sportsmanship and unity, drawing attention to the rich sporting culture of the district.
