Prakriya Tamang, daughter of Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang and a promising athlete from the Sikkim Amateur Taekwondo Association, clinched a silver medal at the 4th Sub-Junior & Senior National Kyorugi and Poomsae Taekwondo Championship in Cuttack, Odisha.

The championship, organized by India Taekwondo, is scheduled to run from August 28 to September 2, 2025, and brings together top young Taekwondo talents from across India. Prakriya’s performance in the competition has been widely praised for her agility, precision, and tactical approach on the mat, reflecting the growing prominence of Sikkim in national sports.
