Sikkim CM welcomes new GOC, honors outgoing Major General Kabhtiyal

Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang on on December 23 welcomed Major General Amit Kabhtiyal (Sena Medal Bar) and Major General M.S. Rathore, SM, VSM, at his official residence. Major General Kabhtiyal, the outgoing General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 17 Mountain Division was praised for his exemplary leadership and service during his tenure.
CM Tamang took the opportunity to express his appreciation for Major General Kabhtiyal, highlighting their strong and cordial relationship over the years. “It was a pleasure to welcome Major General Kabhtiyal and extend my heartfelt best wishes for his future endeavors. His service to the nation has been commendable, and we are grateful for his leadership,” the Chief Minister said.
The meeting also marked the formal introduction of Major General M.S. Rathore, the newly appointed GOC of the 17 Mountain Division. CM Tamang wished him a successful and impactful tenure, emphasizing the importance of strong ties between the military and the state. “I wish Major General Rathore all the best for his tenure ahead. His leadership will be vital in continuing the positive relationship between the army and the people of Sikkim,” the Chief Minister added.
