Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang has been ranked as the best-performing Chief Minister among small states in the latest India Today “Mood of the Nation” (MOTN) poll conducted in August 2025. According to the India Today–CVoter Survey, CM Tamang secured an impressive 54% approval rating, reflecting widespread public confidence in his leadership.

Addressing the recognition, CM Tamang emphasized that the accolade is not merely a personal achievement, but a testament to the trust and support of the people of Sikkim. “This recognition reaffirms our unwavering commitment to progress, inclusivity, and the relentless pursuit of a better future for all,” he said. “Every step of progress we have made is because of the collective strength, resilience, and determination of our people.”

He expressed heartfelt gratitude to the citizens of Sikkim for their constant encouragement, noting that the honour belongs entirely to them as the true architects of the state’s progress. CM Tamang also acknowledged the guidance and support of the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah, the Governor of Sikkim Shri Om Prakash Mathur, and other dignitaries, including ministers, MPs, MLAs, officers, party officials, and supporters who have contributed to Sikkim’s development journey.

“The India Today recognition highlights Sikkim’s transformative path,” he said, “but this honour is for the people of Sikkim, not any individual.” He concluded with a call for unity and collective effort: “Together, as Team Sikkim, let us continue with dedication and determination to realise our vision of a Sunaulo, Samriddha ani Samartha Sikkim for generations to come. Jai Hind! Jai Sikkim!”
