Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang, on May 11, visited the residence of former Minister of State for Minority Affairs, John Barla in Jalpaiguri to offer his condolences following the demise of Barla's wife, Late Smt. Mahima Barla.
The Chief Minister expressed his deep sorrow over the loss and extended his condolences to the grieving family. “It is with great sadness that I extend my heartfelt sympathies to Shri John Barla and his family during this difficult time. May God grant them strength and comfort to bear this profound loss,” said CM Tamang.

During his visit, CM Tamang also met with prominent regional leaders, including MP of Darjeeling, Raju Bista, MP of Alipurduar, Manoj Tigga and the MLAs from the area. Discussions were held about ongoing regional issues and cooperation among the leaders for the welfare of the people in the region.
