Sikkim CM mourns the passing of Gyalo Thondup, brother of Dalai Lama

Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Gyalo Thondup, the esteemed elder brother of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.

In his condolence message, the Chief Minister said, "Deeply saddened by the passing of Revered Gyalo Thondup, the esteemed elder brother of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. A distinguished figure who contributed immensely to the well-being of the community and the marginalized. His unwavering dedication and compassionate endeavors will always be remembered with deep respect."

He further extended his sympathies to the bereaved family and all those mourning the loss. "Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and all those mourning this profound loss. May his noble soul rest in eternal peace," he added.

Gyalo Thondup was a respected figure known for his contributions to the Tibetan community and his lifelong efforts in advocating for their welfare.
