Sikkim CM mourns loss of Padma Shri Awardee Kaajee Singh

Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang expressed grief over the demise of Padma Shri awardee and celebrated Gorkha-Nepali musician, Late Shri Kaajee Singh. In his condolence message, the Chief Minister mentioned the monumental contributions of the legendary musician to the realm of music and culture.
"It is with profound sorrow that I extend my heartfelt condolences on the passing of Padma Shri awardee and renowned Gorkha-Nepali musician, Late Shri Kaajee Singh Ji. A towering figure in the realm of music and culture, his departure is an irreplaceable loss to the Gorkha community and beyond," the Chief Minister said.
Shri Kaajee Singh was not only a maestro of music but also a scholar whose works enriched the cultural landscape of the region. His legacy includes the publication of over five books focusing on folk music and traditional instruments, offering invaluable insights for cultural enthusiasts and researchers.
The Chief Minister also stated the deep impact of Kaajee Singh’s work on the preservation of heritage. "Beyond his music, his scholarly work serves as a treasure trove for cultural enthusiasts and researchers alike," he added.
