The newly appointed Vice Chancellor of Sikkim University, Prof. Santanu Kumar Swain, called on the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang today at his official residence. The meeting marked an important step towards strengthening the higher education landscape in the state.

Prof. Swain was accompanied by his spouse, Smt. Taranibala Narendra Mahapatra, Registrar In-Charge Prof. Laxuman Sharma, and Assistant Professor Dr. Pradip Tripathi. The Chief Minister extended a warm welcome to the delegation and expressed optimism about the future of Sikkim University under Prof. Swain’s leadership.

In a post shared on his official social media page, CM Tamang said it was “a pleasure” to meet the new Vice Chancellor and engage in meaningful discussions on the academic and institutional growth of the university. He highlighted that the interaction centered around improving educational standards, expanding avenues for research and innovation, and fostering an academic environment that nurtures knowledge, skills, values, and excellence among students.

“Such interactions are truly invaluable, as they pave the way for collaborative endeavours that will contribute significantly towards shaping a progressive, inclusive, and globally competitive academic ecosystem in Sikkim. This ecosystem will empower our youth to emerge as responsible leaders, innovators, and contributors to society,” the Chief Minister said.
