Sikkim CM invites Defence Minister Rajnath Singh for Statehood Day celebration

Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang on May 22 met Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi and extended a formal invitation for the upcoming celebration of Sikkim’s 50th Statehood Day. The Defence Minister has graciously accepted the invitation, the CM shared.

Taking to social media, Chief Minister Tamang said, “Had the honour of meeting the Hon’ble Union Minister of Defence, Shri Rajnath Singh Ji, today in New Delhi. On behalf of the people of Sikkim, I extended a formal invitation for him to join us in celebrating the 50th year of Sikkim’s Statehood.”

During the meeting, the CM also congratulated the Defence Minister on the success of “Operation Sindoor”, an anti-terror operation launched in response to the Pahalgam terror attack. “Operation Sindoor marks a proud milestone in our nation’s fight against terrorism under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji,” the CM added.

Chief Minister Tamang expressed his gratitude to Rajnath Singh for his time, guidance, and continued support to Sikkim and its people.
