Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang-Golay on January 19 visited Jautar Stadium in Soreng district to review the final preparations for the upcoming state-level Sonam Lhochar celebrations, set to take place later this month.

During his inspection, the Chief Minister closely monitored the progress of various arrangements and issued clear directives to ensure that all tasks are completed on time. He stated the need for the highest standards of organization, stressing the event’s cultural significance for the Tamang community.

Sonam Lhochar, the Tamang New Year, is celebrated with great enthusiasm and traditional fervor throughout Sikkim. The state-level celebrations at Jautar Stadium are expected to draw a large crowd, featuring cultural performances, rituals, and festive activities that highlight the rich heritage and vibrant community spirit of the Tamang people.
