The newly installed floodlight system is expected to usher in a new era for cricket in Sikkim. With this upgrade, the Mining SICA Cricket Ground will now be capable of hosting professional-level day-night matches, as well as extended training sessions for players. The initiative reflects a broader push by the state government to support and encourage youth involvement in sports, providing them with world-class facilities within the state. The Chief Minister expressed optimism that the new facility would inspire young talents to pursue cricket more seriously and bring recognition to Sikkim in the national sports arena.

Chief Justice Somadder, in his remarks, praised the collaborative efforts between the judiciary, the government, and sports bodies in promoting healthy recreational and competitive avenues for the youth. He noted that infrastructure such as this plays a vital role in channelizing the energy and aspirations of the younger generation.
