In a powerful address at the closing ceremony of the 10-day program on "Shared Vision for Viksit Bharat 2047 – Military-Civil Fusion 2025," Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang underscored the importance of Military-Civil integration for national security and socio-economic development. The program, inspired by the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and chaired by the Hon'ble Governor of Sikkim, Shri Om Prakash Mathur, aimed to strengthen ties between the military and civilian sectors, with Sikkim playing a crucial role due to its strategic position.

CM Tamang began his speech by expressing his gratitude to the Indian Army and the Trishakti Corps for their leadership in organizing the symposium. He emphasized the vital role the Indian Army plays not only in securing borders but also in fostering the socio-economic growth of Sikkim, particularly through collaborative efforts in infrastructure development, including roads, tunnels, and digital connectivity.

Highlighting the state's proactive approach towards ex-servicemen, CM Tamang announced a 20% reservation for Agniveers in the recruitment of Sikkim Police Constables, alongside a 10-year age relaxation for veterans who have served at least six months in the Armed Forces. This initiative aims to create new avenues for post-service livelihoods, further supported by the shop allotment program for veterans to help them establish businesses.

The Chief Minister also stressed the significance of Military-Civil Fusion for both national security and the economic progress of the country. He shared that this alignment supports Prime Minister Modi’s vision of an Atmanirbhar Bharat, ensuring the defense and economic sectors work hand-in-hand to build a secure and prosperous India.

Tamang acknowledged Sikkim's critical role in this fusion, emphasizing the state's efforts to boost youth participation, innovation, and eco-sensitive tourism. He also pointed to successful initiatives like the Vibrant Villages Program and the Sikkim Scouts Regiment as examples of local contributions to national defense.
