Sikkim CM grants Rs 20 lakh for upgradation of Dodak Urgen Choeling Gurung Monastery

Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang on March 31 visited the Dodak Urgen Choeling Gurung Monastery in Soreng district, where he sought blessings for the well-being of the people of the state. During his visit, he announced financial assistance of ₹20 lakh under the Chief Minister’s Discretionary Grant for the monastery’s upgradation.

The Chief Minister emphasized that the grant reflects the government's commitment to preserving and enhancing the religious and cultural heritage of Sikkim. He highlighted that the monastery plays a vital role in faith, learning, and community gatherings, and the financial support will help in its development.

“Our government is dedicated to uplifting and empowering religious and cultural institutions across the state. Such contributions not only strengthen our spiritual traditions but also bring communities closer together,” Tamang said.
