On the 13th foundation day of the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM), Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang, also the president of the SKM, extended his wishes to the people of Sikkim. He thanked the people for their unwavering support and trust in the party, especially highlighting the victory in the 2024 elections where the SKM secured an impressive 54.99% of the vote.
“I extend my sincere gratitude to the people of Sikkim and particularly to the people of Rhenock constituency for electing me as your representative,” said Tamang. He went on to acknowledge that while some people in Rhenock may feel neglected due to his inability to meet them in person since the election, he assured them that this is far from the truth. The Chief Minister emphasized that his time and efforts have always been directed towards the people and areas in most need.
Tamang further said, “The people of Rhenock may feel that their elected representative has not met them, but rest assured, I am always with the people of Rhenock. The trust you have placed in me is something I will never break. I will work tirelessly to change the scenario of Rhenock.”
He acknowledged the unique position of the Rhenock constituency, which, like all regions, requires attention, yet, as Chief Minister, his duties extend to all areas. He pointed out that even without personal meetings, the administrative machinery, including the cabinet secretaries and other officials, have always been working for the benefit of the people of Rhenock.
Looking forward, Tamang reassured the people of Rhenock that their trust in him would lead to positive change. “I promise that in the 2029 elections, youths from Rhenock will come forward as leaders, and SKM party members will continue to stand by the people,” he said.
Speaking on the party’s achievements, Tamang praised the SKM’s track record from 2019 to 2024, crediting the party's work for its overwhelming success in the elections, where they won 31 out of 32 seats in a historic victory. “Our victory is a testament to the hard work and commitment of everyone in the SKM, and we will continue to work for the betterment of Sikkim,” he said.
