Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang expressed deep pride and happiness on June 10 as he marked the first anniversary of the second term of the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) government. In a message to the people, the Chief Minister thanked the citizens for their continued trust and support and dedicated the day to the journey of democracy and development in the state.

Calling the anniversary a “momentous occasion,” Tamang said it reflects the strong belief people have in the SKM government and the leadership working together to take the state forward. He said the day is not just about celebrating a government but also the spirit of democracy and people’s hopes for growth and fairness.

“We are not only marking one year of our second term,” said the Chief Minister, “but also celebrating our shared dreams for a better Sikkim. This anniversary shows how committed we are to justice, equality, and inclusive governance.”

This important occasion also comes at a special time, as Sikkim completes 50 years of statehood. Tamang used the moment to remember the history and progress of the state over the past five decades. He praised the people of Sikkim for their unity, strong cultural identity, and focus on sustainable growth.

“Let us honour our forefathers and continue to uphold the values that make us proud Sikkimese,” he said.

Tamang spoke about the journey of the SKM government over the past year and how it has focused on changing the future of the state for the better. He said that even in a short span of one year, the government has achieved many important milestones and has been working tirelessly to turn its vision into reality.

He also extended special thanks to the Central Government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for their support, especially during difficult times. Tamang said the guidance and encouragement from Delhi have played a key role in helping the state move ahead.

The Chief Minister took the opportunity to thank his entire team for their hard work and the people of Sikkim for believing in the government’s vision. While celebrating the achievements, he said there is still a lot more to be done and that the government will stay focused on serving every citizen and every part of the state.

“As we look ahead, we must continue working together with a united goal of building a brighter, stronger, and more prosperous Sikkim. Let us stay committed to inclusive development and transformative governance,” he said.

He said that the SKM government will continue to work for the good of the people and the development of every region. He also stressed the importance of unity and collective effort in creating a “Sunaulo, Sammridha, and Samarth Sikkim” – a golden, prosperous, and capable state.
