During the inauguration of the Lebunba Pungwa Ne-ing Yuk Him (Manghim) at Yuma Yok, Darap, Gyalshing, Chief Minister prem Singh Tamang said that strict measures will be taken against petrol pumps that fail to maintain clean toilets. He said that any petrol pump found with unclean toilets will face closure and punitive action.

In his address, the Chief Minister stressed the importance of cleanliness as part of Sikkim's cultural values. "We, the people of Sikkim, are known for our cleanliness. We must uphold this tradition and live in clean surroundings. If the toilets at petrol pumps are not cleaned, they will be banned. This goes against our culture and values," said CM Tamang.

Moreover, the Chief Minister announced that police will be deployed to monitor the cleanliness of toilets at petrol pumps, with authorities checking and ensuring proper maintenance. He also extended this directive to government offices, stating that district collectors will have full authority to suspend officials if offices, including toilets, are not maintained to a high standard of cleanliness.

Highlighting the deep connection between a clean environment and a healthy mindset, CM Tamang remarked, "If we live in dirty places, how can our minds be clean? A clean environment will lead to clean thoughts and actions." He encouraged everyone to work together towards achieving a cleaner, more hygienic Sikkim.
