Sikkim bids farewell to outgoing DGP A.K. Singh, welcomes new leadership

A farewell party was organized today at Samman Bhawan to honor A.K. Singh, IPS, the outgoing Director General of Police (DGP) of Sikkim. The event celebrated Singh’s remarkable tenure, during which he played a pivotal role in upholding law and order across the state. His leadership was marked by a commitment to fostering discipline, professionalism, and community-oriented policing, leaving a lasting impact on the Sikkim Police Force.

During the same ceremony, a warm welcome was extended to Akshay Sachdeva, IPS, the newly appointed DGP of Sikkim. Sachdeva, known for his distinguished career and innovative approach to policing, is expected to carry forward the legacy of excellence established by his predecessor.

The event also included a reception for Chief Secretary R. Telang, IAS, and Chief Administrator cum Cabinet Secretary V.B. Pathak, who recently assumed their respective roles.
