Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang on June 12 expressed immense pride and joy in meeting the state's rising sports stars who brought glory to the region at the recently concluded Khelo India Beach Games held at Ghoghla Beach in Diu and the 7th Khelo India Youth Games hosted in Bihar this May.
CM Tamang lauded the young athletes for their outstanding performances and unwavering commitment to their respective sports. “It was a true delight to meet our incredible athletes who made us proud,” said the Chief Minister, adding that their achievements are a source of inspiration not just for aspiring sportspersons but for all of Sikkim.

In athletics, Master Anchal Rai demonstrated exceptional endurance and speed, securing a Gold Medal in the 2000-meter Steeplechase, showcasing his dominance in middle-distance track events. Meanwhile, in boxing, Master Rewash Rai proved his mettle by winning a Bronze Medal in the 65kg category, reflecting the grit and determination that Sikkim’s youth are increasingly becoming known for.
CM Tamang praised their “hard work, dedication, and fighting spirit” and emphasized that these values are what make champions. “They made our state and our people proud. Keep shining and chasing your dreams,” he said.
