The Annual Gram Sabha for the Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) of the 24-Pakyong Yakten Gram Panchayat Unit (GPU) was successfully conducted today at the Pakyong GPK Hall. The Sabha, presided over by Panchayat President Smt. Sarita Bhusal as the Sabha Adhakshya, brought together government officials, Panchayat members, and the local community to discuss and plan for the region's development.
The event saw the participation of Hon’ble Zilla Adhakshya of Pakyong District, Smt. Laden Lhamu Bhutia, alongside Panchayat members Shri Rakesh Basnett and Smt. Sarita Chettri. Officials from various departments, including Education, Social Welfare, Forest and Environment, Power, Roads and Bridges, Water Resources, and Agriculture, were also in attendance.
Ward-level needs and demands, previously deliberated in ward sabhas, were presented by Gram Panchayat members for official consideration. This systematic approach ensured that local issues were effectively highlighted and addressed.
A key aspect of the Sabha was the open discussion, which allowed community members to directly engage with Panchayat representatives and officials. Participants raised concerns, offered suggestions, and sought clarifications on pressing matters. This interactive dialogue emphasized transparency and fostered collective problem-solving to tackle challenges faced by the GPU.
Smt. Sarita Bhusal lauded the active participation of the community and the collaborative efforts of the various departments. She emphasized the importance of such platforms in promoting inclusive development and ensuring that the voices of all stakeholders are heard.
