The final phase of the Sikkim Garib Awas Yojana (SGAY) door-to-door survey was successfully completed across Rai Gaon, Salangthang, Sangtong, Malangthang, and Phenzong under the Ranka Gram Panchayat Unit (GPU), officially marking the conclusion of the SGAY survey for the entire Ranka Block Administrative Centre (BAC).
Hon’ble MLA Smt. Kala Rai, who actively supervised the concluding phase, expressed heartfelt appreciation to the BAC officers, ward panchayats, party functionaries, and residents for their collective efforts in executing the survey seamlessly. She particularly acknowledged the leadership and coordination of BDO Shri Chuing Dorje Bhutia and AD Shri Sonam Wongyal Bhutia, along with the entire BAC and GPU team, for ensuring transparency and efficiency in the process.
“The SGAY survey is not merely a data-gathering exercise—it is a moral commitment to uplift the deserving. It embodies our collective goal of delivering dignity, justice, and housing security to the most vulnerable,” MLA Rai stated.
During the visit, the MLA also stopped by Rai Gaon and Phenzong Primary Schools, interacting warmly with students and teachers. She assured the school communities that their concerns, especially regarding infrastructure and facilities, would be relayed to the appropriate authorities for swift and effective redressal.
The SGAY initiative, envisioned under the leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang-Golay, aims to provide quality housing for economically weaker sections of the society. The programme has steadily made inroads into remote and rural corners of the state, reflecting the government’s inclusive development agenda.
