S.D. Dhakal honoured with ‘Bhanu Puraskar 2025’ at Nepali Bhasa Manyata Diwas in Gangtok

Sikkim’s respected writer and literary figure S.D. Dhakal has been conferred with the prestigious Bhanu Puraskar 2025 by the Nepali Sahitya Parishad Sikkim. The honour was presented during the 34th Nepali Bhasa Manyata Diwas celebrations held in Gangtok today. The award recognises Dhakal’s lifelong contributions to Nepali literature and his efforts to preserve and promote the cultural richness of the Nepali language.

The event drew writers, poets, teachers, students, and cultural enthusiasts from across the state, who gathered to pay respect to the language and to celebrate its role in shaping the identity of the Nepali-speaking community.
